If a driver is approaching an intersection and intends to make a left turn, he or she must give the right of way to any person on a bicycle traveling in the opposite direction. Failure to do so is a violation of the law and the driver will be held accountable if the bicyclist is hit or injured as a result of his or her failure to yield the right of way.
